1. Cody White – Walled Lake Western

The Warriors came very close to seeing their season come to an end on Friday night as Western narrowly escaped an upset at the hands of South Lyon. White finished the game with 88 yards and two scores for Western to help pace the offensive attack, but as the postseason goes on, White will have the majority of attention from defenses focused on him.

2. Kalil Pimpleton – Muskegon

Muskegon had little trouble in the first round of the Division 3 playoffs, earning a 63-14 win over Forest Hills Northern and Pimpleton played a big role in the win for the Big Reds. Pimpleton tallied one receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown for Muskegon, to go along with his 123 yards on 13 carries.

3. Donovan Peoples-Jones – Detroit Cass Tech

Peoples-Jones made an impact on both offense and defense in the playoff opening win for the Technicians on Saturday, taking a screen pass and turning it into a 36-yard touchdown on offense and also recorded an interception on defense for Cass Tech in Saturday’s 35-7 win.

4. Tariq Reid – Davison

Reid came extremely close to moving into the Top Three this week after his five touchdown performance in the playoff opening win over Grand Blanc on Friday night. Reid finished Friday night’s game with 166 yards on 28 carries as he went over the 2,000 yard mark on the season as the Cardinals advanced to the second round of the postseason.

5. Ambry Thomas – Detroit King

It was a very quiet Friday for Thomas in the playoff opener for the Crusaders, as the star senior recorded just one catch on the day, but it’s safe to assume that Thomas will be putting up bigger and better numbers when the competition gets tougher throughout the playoffs, beginning with the second round game against Oak Park on Saturday afternoon.
