Romeo's Tanner commits to Western Michigan

On Tuesday night, one of the most underrated football prospects from the 2015 football season, Romeo ATH Brad Tanner committed to Western Michigan.

After an impressive postseason run, where he helped lead Romeo to its first ever football state championship, Tanner earned his first Division 1 football offer from Ball State last Friday and the next day, his second offer came from Western Michigan.

And it didn’t take long for the Romeo star to jump at the opportunity to play for coach PJ Fleck as he committed to the Broncos just three days later.

Tanner’s teammate, tight end Mitch Heimbech, is currently a Western Michigan commit.

Tanner previously received interest from Iowa, Kansas and Pittsburgh and had planned on taking visits to those schools before committing.

One of the senior leaders for Romeo this season, Tanner was a jack-of-all trades for the Bulldogs, serving as a wide receiver and also worked out of the backfield on offense and was a defensive back as well for Romeo.

Tanner totaled 25 touchdowns on the season for Romeo and over 1,700 all-purpose yards on offense.

After a playoff performance that included highlight reel plays, that caught the attention of national media, Tanner capped off his high school career with a three touchdown, 130 yard rushing performance against Cass Tech in the Division 1 State Championship Game.
