FOOTBALL RECRUITING: Brother Rice junior, Grant Perry talks first offer from Central Michigan

Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice 2015 athlete Grant Perry picked up an offer from Central Michigan today. It's the first offer for the 6-0, 180-pounder.

Perry is a versatile athlete, who excels on both sides of the ball, but looks very comfortable on offense. The Chippewas offered Perry as a wide receiver and he hauled in 57 passes for 862 yards and 8 touchdowns this past season.

Perry helped lead Brother Rice to its third straight Division 2 state title and would be a great addition to the Central Michigan program. He talked more about the offer here.

1.) How big of a relief was it for you to have gotten your first offer?

"Oh it's huge! I've been working and working and waiting patiently and I finally got it. Big relief!"

2.) How did you first hear about the Central Michigan offer?

"Coach Sofran told me to give coach Enos a call and that he's interested in offering you. So I called him and that's when he said we're going to offer you."

3.) What was your reaction when coach Enos told you he was offering you?

"I was siked! Couldn't believe it for a minute and then it sunk in that these football opportunities were becoming a reality for me."

4.) What do you like about the Central Michigan program and coach Dan Enos?

"Coach Enos has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing. I like how CMU plays, I like their offense a lot, and I enjoy watching them on Saturdays. They always have a couple Brother Rice players on their squad, so that's cool too."

5.) Have you visited Mt.Pleasant before and if so how was it up there?

"I actually haven't been up there, because I couldn't make their junior day. But coach Enos definitely wants me to get up there as soon as I can."

6.) What other schools have been pursuing you hard?

"Minnesota, Cincinnati, Nebraska, and Bowling Green. I want to hear more from Michigan and Michigan State though."

7.) What position do you want to play the most in college?

"Whatever position gets me the money. But no wide receiver or defensive back is fine. Whatever the team or coaches need, I'll do it."
