Andrean’s Michael Doolin named Gatorade Indiana Baseball POY for 2019

Andrean’s Michael Doolin has been selected as the Gatorade Indiana Baseball Player of the Year the company announced on Thursday.
The senior, who is signed with Vanderbilt, is a pitcher and infielder for the Fighting 59ers (19-2 at the time of Doolin’s selection). A 2019 Perfect Game Preseason Second Team All-American and the 2018 NWI Times Co-Player of the Year, Doolin was 7-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 35 innings, holding hitters to a .115 average through 21 games. He was hitting .490 with four home runs, 27 RBI and a gaudy .603 on-base percentage.
Doolin helped lead Andrean to the 3A IHSAA state title last season, beating Silver Creek, 6-1, in the championship game.
