Announcement from MHSAA on fate of volleyball, swimming and soccer postponed

For those waiting for the decision on the status of volleyball, boys soccer and girls swimming to come from the Michigan High School Athletic Association from Wednesday’s meeting of the Representative Council … well, hold on.
The Representative Council adjourned without making a decision after meeting Wednesday, and will reconvene on Thursday, a spokesperson said.
Executive director Mark Uyl indicated in an appearance on “The Huge Show” on Monday that the council would be meeting again Wednesday to make the decision. He’s scheduled to be on the radio show again at Wednesday in the 3 p.m. hour.
The association was awaiting clarification from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office on conflicting directives from two different executive orders, as well as guidance on when indoor facilities — gyms, weight rooms and pools — would be open for use before announcing its decision.
