Austin Brown leaves Detroit Catholic Central, transfers to Madison Heights Madison

After Detroit Catholic Central advanced to the Division 1 football final in 2016 with the help of sophomore quarterback Austin Brown, it appears the Shamrocks will be in search of a new signal caller when the 2017 season rolls around.
Brown, who broke his leg in the Division 1 semifinal against Romeo, will be transferring to Madison Heights Madison. The Brown family and Catholic Central athletic director Aaron Babicz confirming to State Champs! reporter Ben Szilagy.
Jimmy Brown, Austin’s father, who is the athletic director at Madison high school, cited family reasons as to why he will be transferring to Madison District Public Schools, which is his former school district.
Babicz confirmed that Brown will be transferring via email.
“Austin Brown has decided to transfer to the school where his father works,” he said. “We are disappointed that he is leaving but wish him the best.”
In his sophomore season with the Shamrocks, Brown threw for 1,350 yards and 17 touchdowns and also accounted for 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Brown is regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2019 and holds offers from Akron, Toledo and Miami (OH).
Last season, Madison finished with a 6-4 record and ended the regular season on a three game win streak to qualify for the playoffs under first year head coach James Rogers. The Eagles were eliminated in the first round of the Division 7 playoffs by Detroit Loyola, who advanced to the state championship game.
