Big Deal For The Big Ten – MSU Bags Mega Recruit In River Rouge WR Megatron Marsh

Metro Detroit’s Megatron is closing down his recruiting.

River Rouge junior wide receiver Nick Marsh, the No. 1 pass catching prospect in the Mitten’s Class of 2024, committed to Michigan State this past weekend. Marsh visited the MSU campus in East Lansing Saturday.

“It’s all love and support in the MSU program, the positive energy is contagious the minute you walk in the building,” he said.

The sleek, smooth 6-foot-3 split end chose the Spartans from a list of 33 scholarship offers. He is a consensus 4-star recruit and camped at the University of Alabama last week. Most of the Big Ten offered him and he had SEC and ACC offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia Tech. Notre Dame was also in hot pursuit.

Marsh came on strong as a freshman in the 2020 season, catching a touchdown in the D3 state finals loss to DeWitt. His teammates nicknamed him Megatron for his similar style on the gridiron to retired Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson. During his sophomore campaign, he racked up 1,065 yards and 11 touchdowns.
