A Patriotic Decision – Djokaj Tapped To Helm Franklin Cage Brigade

By: Scott Burnstein, May 19, 2016, 8:44 pm
Jon Djokaj, one of Metro Detroit’s best assistant boys basketball coaches the past decade, now has his own program. Djokaj was named the new head coach atLivonia Franklin this week.

This isn’t a good hire, this is a GREAT hire!! Djokaj is the breath of fresh air PatriotsNation needs on the hardwood. He’s going to inject pride, structure and fundamentals in what’s been a tough go of it for Franklin hoops fans lately.

His track record and coaching tree speaks for itself. In high school, he played for Tom Negoshian at North Farmington. Since he got on the sidelines, he’s been part of championship squads at Bloomfield Hills Lahser, Birmingham Seaholm and Troy Athens. Most recently he was the JV coach and varsity assistant at up-and-coming Walled Lake Northern. During the spring and summer months, Djokaj is a staple of excellent player development on the AAU circuit (aka ‘One of the Good Guys’).

Burney’s super glad to see his boy Jonny D off and running (FINALLY!!) on his first job in the driver’s seat. Anyone who knows him, knows he’s more than well deserving of the chance to run his own program. Pats, you got yourselves a dandy!!
