Back At Full Throttle

The Oak Park boys basketball team got good news last week when Kelvon Fuller, a 6-foot-8 beast of a power forward and former-now-current KnightsNation hoopster, enrolled in school. If his academics are in order, he’ll be eligible to play second semester.

Fuller was an all-league pick for Oak Park as a sophomore in 2014, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per night. Last winter, he left the program and the school midseason after Knights coach Bryant Tipton resigned amid allegations of grade-fixing and finished the 2015 school year at Detroit Mumford. Prior to his departure, Fuller was considered one of the top college recruits in the state’s Class of 2016 out of the frontcourt. Scouting experts speculated, Xavier was on the verge of offering him a scholarship when he was sidelined.

His presence could be a gamechanger for the OP 2016 club. If he keeps his grades in order (he’ll most likely have to attend a juco following graduation), he’ll be a steal for whatever Division I college program snags his services in the future. All Burney can say is Kelvon is FULL of SICK POTENTIAL and might be a pro before it’s all said and done on his career as a cager……YEAH, I SAID IT!!
