Beantown Baller Alert – Tying His Fortunes To The East

Romulus-transfer Ty Groce is one of the top wing prospects on the state’s high school hoops scene. His performance in his former Ypsilanti Lincoln digs proved that. Over this weekend, Groce turned his attention to the next level and committed to Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Groce (6-6) is an athletic slasher with a silky touch and excellent shot selection. In other words, his game is very efficient – he shot over 50 percent from the field and is a cage assassin in the half-court set shaking and baking and filling the lane on the fast break, Last season at Lincoln, he averaged 14 points, 6-5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for a 13-10 Railsplitters club. He chose Northeastern over almost a dozen mid-major Division I offers, mostly spawning from colleges in the Midwest.
Northeastern, located in the heart of historic Beantown, won a Colonial Athletic Association title in 2015. The Huskies advanced into the second round of the NCAA Tournament, finishing 23-12.
