Blackhawks Benefit From New Coaching Hire

The Z-Factor will now be on the sidelines at Ortonville Brandon.

Brad Zube, the former head football coach at both Pontiac and Stoney Creek, accepted the OB Blackhawks position wearing the headphones earlier this week. He’ll no doubt work his magic again in his new digs, just like he did at the ‘Yak and DA Creek, mark my words.

This is the kind of coach every program should want – passionate, intelligent, strong communicator, stellar tactician , all character, all blood, sweat and tears, all heart!!

Not surprisingly, Zube learned the tricks of the trade under a great mentor – his high school coach Greg Ganfield, first as a prepster at Romeo in the 1990s and then under him as an assistant and coordinator.

Zube replaced Ganfield at Pontiac, where he stayed two years before coming over to Stoney Creek where he’s been the past four seasons.

Brandon made the playoffs for the first time since 2011 last fall with a 6-4 record.
