Boys BBall Training Camp Report – The Holly Horseshoe Diaries

By: Scott Burnstein, November 28, 2016, 10:06 pm
Perennial Flint Metro League-contender Holly should be fun to watch again this boys basketball season. The Bronchos mantra in the Team Baylis era has always been “reload never rebuilt.” There will be some exciting new names and new faces hooping it up at the Horseshoe in 2017, so with no further ado, let’s ROLL IT – Broncho Baller-Shot Caller Style:
Noah Baylis (G) – Fantastic frosh ready to erupt on the comp in the Flint Metro, coach Lance Baylis’ highly-touted son, they call him “Baby Nash” for a reason, pure point guard, pure playmaker
Austin Harless (G) –Senior shooter and slasher extraordinaire out of the backcourt in store for a mega final campaign on the high school hardwood
Paris Partee (F) – The quintessential Sir-Grind-A-Lot in the paint, a Windex man and rebounding machine, length, motor, quickness, instinct, mad hops, heavy-duty bball IQ, active and tenacious defender……any questions?
Connor Spencer (F/C) – Bruiser around the rim, wide-bodied workhorse, master screen-setter and banger on the boards….is known as “McNasty” to Partee’s “McFilthy”
Luke Copley & Devon Williams (F) – Duo of senior wings who compliment each other smashingly: Copley is a bomber from deep with rebounding skill, Williams a mid-range specialist with a bulldog mentality taking the rock to the rack
Nick Fenner (G) – Instant heat off the pine, natural scorer, reminds some Holly hoop heads of old-school Bad Boy Piston Vinnie “The Microwave” Johnson
Andrew Spak & Isaiah Franklin (G) – Prototypical “glue guys,” reliable, always-ready for the nod, the kind of players that get the job done at all costs, coachable,  cagey, athletic, fierce in the floor burn department
Austin Pellett & Dylan Hignite (F/C) – These two MAD NICE ninth-graders form the future of the Bronchos on the blocks, Pellett at forward and Hignite in the middle at center….a pair of tough-as-nails competitors that are eager to learn, contribute and grow into their respective roles
Grant Tooley (F) – Football star set to bring energy and ferociousness in the frontcourt off the bench
