College Basketball Recruiting Ticker: Trips To Campus, Signings & De-Commitements

North Farmington’s Amauri Hardy, a Mr. Basketball finalist this past winter, took a visit to Arkansas over the weekend. The Razorbacks offered Hardy a scholarship last week. Hardy de-committed from Oklahoma State earlier this month. The clever and explosive 6-foot-2 combo guard pumped in 29 points per game in 2017. Besides Arkansas, Hardy holds offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, Virginia Commonwealth and UNLV. When he announced his de-committed from Oklahoma State, he assured Cowboys fans that OSU remained an option.
Detroit U-D Jesuit senior center Greg Eboigbodin is reopening his recruitment. The 6-foot-9 Eboigbodin de-committed from the University of Illinois-Chicago Monday. Eboigbodin started on three straight Catholic League and regional title squads and was in the middle when the Cubs collected a Class A state crown last year in his junior season.
From the world of college connections, Muskegon senior swingman Sammy Cornett signed with Lake Superior Stateand Walled Lake Western senior combo guard Delano Smith inked with Davenport University. Both Cornett and Smith won Class A district championships in March with their respective high school clubs. Smith led the KLAA in scoring for two years in a row (2016: 25 ppg, 2017: 27 ppg). Cornett got to Muskegon for his senior year (transferring from Grandville where he played for his pops) and averaged 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per night.
