Coming Off Big Week, C-Town Baller Brigade Proves They’re For Real

By: Scott Burnstein, January 20, 2016, 8:15 pm

Clarkston’s boys cage crew made a lot of noise this past week. The 7-1 Wolfpack spoke volumes with their actions. TEAM FIFE grabbed four huge wins, all in double digit victories, all against high-quality opponents, including capping the effort with back-to-back DUBS versus fellow Top 10-ranked squads.

First, C-Town cruised past Romulus at a showcase in the city and rallied from a halftime deficit to top AA Skyline on the road by 13. Then, they beat up on OAA Red rival and No. 8-ranked North Farmington, followed by a complete decimation of No. 4-ranked Detroit Renaissance over the weekend in a MLK Holiday showcase event at Warren Fitzgerald. Mighty impressive, fellas!

All without standout senior swingman Tabin Throgmorton (ankle injury, out ‘till later this month). Watch out when by man T-Squared gets back on the floor, the Pack will be PRIMED for another long run come March Madness!!

These guys are playing focused, fundamentally-sound disciplined basketball. In other words, typical Clarkston basketball. And it’s not only the super-duper backcourt of Foster ‘The Phenom’ Loyer and Dylan ‘All Day’ Aldrerson doing the heavy lifting for the Wolves, “program guys” like Ryan Holmes and Mitch Heaton are putting in MAJOR WORK!!  Holmes has been nothing but aces on the block, Holmes has excelled on the perimeter and on ‘D.’ Sophomore C.J. Robinson is starting to come on strong, too.

If anybody thought the C-Town Cage Contingent would take a step back this year after a trip to the Class 8 quarterfinals in 2015, they were obviously wrong. With the addition of Alderson (Davison transfer) and the continued growth of Loyer (first team all-state as a fab frosh last yr), the Wolves are looking better than ever.
