The Detroit PSL is the home to some mighty fine freshman backcourt prospects on the boys hardwood these days.
With their first year of varsity hoops under their belts, let’s take a look the three best “Baby Ballers” in the historic league, according to your boy Burney (listed in alphabetical order):
Tyson Acuff (Detroit Cass Tech) – Pure playmaker at the point, superior court vision, gritty competitor on both sides of the ball, crafty when he gets into the lane to create for himself and his teammates, a true hardwood quarterback
Lorne Bowman (Detroit Western) – This fearless floor general DOES IT ALL!! Electric leading a fast break, ridiculous basketball IQ, dynamite in the clutch and really just starting to scratch the surface on a GINORMOUS upside of potential
Steve Pearson (Detroit Northwestern) – So smooth and athletic at the two-guard slot it’s downright sick (Can you say THER-A-FLU SPECIAL alert?), the definition of a finisher, plain and simple, a natural scorer with swagger, serious HOPS and PRIMETIME PERFORMER written all over him and his high-powered game
