Don’t Sweat The Technique- The Crane Kick

Does the term Diaper Dandy mean anything to you? Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook’s Kobi Russell is an emerging bright, shining star in both football and basketball. The school’s leafy campus and its’ athletic facilities are is oyster for the foreseeable future – book it!!

The FAB FROSH started at wide receiver for the 9-2 Cranes gridiron club back on the fall. This winter, he starts at point guard for the school’s hoops squad. On Tuesday, he put in 15 points, dished six assists and swiped three steals in Cranbrook’s 74-70 downing of Clawson in overtime, scoring the go-ahead basket in the extra session.

We’re talking THER-A-FLU SPECIAL here! There was so much sickness in the building between him and his senior backcourt partner Jordyn Finney (24 pts) Tuesday night, everyone in the gym required flu shots before exiting to the parking lot. You chuckle, but it was true!!

Russell appears to be that rare, enticing blend of talent, presence & Sir-Grind-A-Lot spirit. This kid is straight butter. His two-sport game is THAT smooth, his natural touch and feel on the football field and hardwood is that GOOD. Watch for Russell to be a staple in the area’s prep sports scene for the next four years and remember Burney told you about him first!!
