Driving Fast In Detroit

By: Scott Burnstein, September 3, 2015, 11:10 pm

Burney loves him some Martell Pettaway, Detroit King’s new starting running back. He might be Burney’s pick for best future college career of all the backs in the Class of 2016. Last year as a junior at St. Claire Shores South Lake, he rushed for over 1,300 yards and double-digits in touchdowns. A few months back he committed to West Virginia University. Can you say a first-rate STEAL in the recruiting game for the Mountaineers?

This kid is in BEAST MODE 24/7, I’m talking Power Personified going up between the tackles right into the heart of the opposing defense – nothing but blood, sweat, & tears, not to mention BRUTE FORCE on every single snap. Think a prep version of NFL Hall of Famer and PSL alum Jerome “The Bus” Bettis. That’s how good and tough-to-bring-down he is. I’ve decided to nickname Pettaway, “The PSL Pick-Up Truck,” I believe it’s appropriate and akin to his style on the gridiron. Like The Bus, the freshly-tapped Pick Up Truck is always to ready, willing and able to run opponents over. You know the kind of player that prefers to go straight through you instead of around you?
