Eastern Promises – WB Cager Commits To EMU After Torrid Finish To ’17

West Bloomfield senior boys basketball star Kevin McAdoo turned a magical three-week state tournament hot streak into a Division I college scholarship.
On the heels of taking the WB Lake Show on his shoulders and into the Class A final four back in March, McAdoo, the Lakers’ departing 6-2 combo guard, committed to Eastern Michigan University over the weekend. He pumped in 23.5 points a night as a senior in 2017 after tallying 16 an outing as a junior.
Before this year’s Big Dance, WB’s BIG MAC didn’t have any offers. Then, he proceeded to go bonkers on the big stage, averaging almost 30 points per game in tourney action and firmly putting himself in the discussion for a late DI bid, which came in the form of an invitation from the Eagles in Ypsilanti.
EMU snagged Flint Beecher senior point guard Malik Ellison after the tourney concluded as well creating quite the ultimate incoming Better-Late-Than-Never Backcourt with Ellison at the point and McAdoo filling the two-guard spot.
McAdoo’s dad, Kevin, Sr., was a dynamo in the backcourt at U-D Mercy in the 1980s. The Elder BIG MAC left the Titans program in 1986 as the school’s all-time assist leader.
