Five For Fighting – By Invitation Only

FIVE FOR FIGHTING – Top Five Performances At The Second-Annual Oakland Invitational Boys HS Hoops Showcase at North Farmington over the weekend.
1 Trishton Jackson (West Bloomfield) – They call him Action Jackson for a reason, as in he just went all ACTION JACKSON on the comp, 30-point, 8-dime effort in his club’s 77-76 edging of Southfield Christian in OT, including game-tying basket on a finger roll off the glass as time expired in regulation and the winning leaner in the lane in the extra session…Please get this kid some THER-A-FLU quick, ‘cause he’s complete SICKNESS on the hardwood (as he is on the gridiron)
2 “The 12-Man Rotation” (Bloomfield Hills) – TEAM MARYANSKI is on a mission, please take note (their OT clipping of Hazel Park was a beauty), so much depth, desire and dedication it’s scary!!
2 Danny Pippen (Detroit Allen) – More like Scottie Pippen, went for 26 points and 16 boards in his squad’s ridiculously-entertaining stomping of Southfield, including a series of highlight reel dipsey-doo dunkeroos
3 Walter Kelser (Walled Lake Central) – Baby Special K was his usual special self, going for a 28-spot in the Vikings downing of Farmington……just another day at the office for this HUNGRY LIKE WOLF HOOP HOUND
5 (tie) Mike Flowers (Southfield) – Gets Burney’s Steph Curry award for going totally BONKERS in a loss, dropping 50 on darn good Allen Academy team
5 (tie) Marlow Brown & Brock Washington (Southfield Christian) – Gets Burney’s SIR-GRIND-A-LOT-SPECIAL Award for their nasty-as-they-want-to-be doubles doubles in defeat: Marlow the Magnificent at 24 points and 22 rebounds, Washington Monument version 1:0 had 25 points and 10 rebounds
