FIVE FOR FIGHTING – Burney’s Top 5 QBs in the CHSL-Central for 2015
1. Josh Wilk (Warren De La Salle) – Fearless first-year phenom under center very reminiscent of Joey Garbowski in last season’s run to the program’s first-ever state championship…SWAGGER LEVEL has already exceeded the FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND TRILIION, please make note! Can you say ZERO learning curve?
2. Brandon Tabone (OL St. Mary’s) – My man T-Bone is just about to hit his stride and start carving up opposing secondaries with surgical proficiency and acumen en route to a repeat state crown in D3…this guys like Joe Flacco with a Ravens’ Super Bowl ‘D’ behind him backing him up on the other side of the rock
3. Mike Sims (Detroit UD-Jesuit) – This crafty, clever and athletic junior will lead the Cubbies to a return trip to the playoffs, he’s been stellar at the controls of Jesuit’s offense all year long so far, will only keep getting better
4. Austin Brown (Detroit Catholic Central) – The best freshman in the Catholic League, possesses an upside in the pocket in terms of his arm, command and natural moxie and grid IQ that is through the proverbial roof
5. Theo Day (Detroit Catholic Central) – The best backup in the Catholic League and maybe in all of Metro Detroit, would start on 75 percent of other teams across the state, big, smooth delivery, subtle touch…. seeing time as a receiver lately
