Five For Fighting – Top efforts from the 2016 Catholic League A-B Division baseball finals won by Birmingham Brother Rice 5-1 over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Thursday down at Comerica Park

 

1 Karl Kauffmann (Brother Rice Sr. P) – Showed why he might be the best player in the state…. got the dub on the bump, tossing a complete-game 3-hitter with 6 ks, had a shutout going through 6 innings, chipped in on offense with a single and run scored. Total domination at all times…’Nuff Said!!!

 

2 Chris Faust (Brother Rice Jr. SS) – Continued his scorching-hot spring with another electrifying effort: he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, keyed the critical 4^th inning with his smoking stick….Mega-Baller Alert!!!! Please spread the word.

 

3 Tito Flores (Brother Rice Fr. IF) – Can you say SUPERSTAR in the making? This fab frosh was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI

 

4 Drake Titus (OL St. Mary’s Sr. P) – OLSM ace was hurt by errors in the field from his defense, the West Point bound hurler threw a 3-hitter and matched Kauffmann pitch-for-pitch for most of the contest

 

5 Joe Carlini (OL St. Mary’s Jr. IF) – Collected the Eaglets only RBI of the day on a 7^th inning single which scored catcher Harrison Sal
