Football Reruiting Report – Wild Weekend In The Mitten

Pontiac Notre Dame Prep offensive lineman Kyle Sassack, Northville linebacker Trenton Guthrie and Allendale defensive end Nate Ulmor will be “Rowing the boat” next year with P.J. Fleck at the University of Minnesota. The trio of 3-star recruits and former Western Michigan commits jumped ship on the Broncos over the weekend to join Fleck in Gopherland. Fleck led WMU to national prominence and a spot in the Cotton Bowl this year. A running total of eight one-time BroncosClass of 2017 commits vacated their intentions to head to Kalamazoo in the past 72 hours and instead will be following Fleck and playing their college pigskin in the Twin Cities.
Belleville senior free safety Jordan Ulmer will be Big 12 balling at the college level. He committed to the University of Missouri over the weekend. Ulmer (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) recorded 85 tackles and four interceptions in 2016. Ulmer chose Mizzou over Minnesota, Iowa State and Cincinnati. Considered a 3-star prospect, he visited the school’s Columbia campus in December.
From the offer list: West Bloomfield junior wide receiver Taj Mustapha snared a Syracuse offer and Muskegon quarterback, Ladarius Jefferson pocketed a scholarship bid from Toledo. Besides the ‘Cuse, Mustapha (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) has offers from Toledo and Ball State. Jefferson (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) has a Ball State bid too. Last fall, Mustapha registered a breakout campaign, making 42 grabs for 850 yards and 9 touchdowns.
