By: Scott Burnstein, August 2, 2016, 7:47 pm
The 2016 Birmingham Brother Rice football team will rely on what should be an exciting offense to bounce back from the tradition-steeped program’s first under-500 season in three decades. The Warriors have some intriguing prospects at the skill positions.

Alright, let’s roll call the Big Orange Playmaking Posse:

Mariano Valenti (Soph. QB) – This slippery, savvy and athletically-gifted dual-threat will be under center for Team SOFRAN this fall after get the late-season call-up as a fab frosh in ‘15. Can you say lightning in a bottle?

Marcellus Gaines (Soph. RB) – Will be the next in a long line of fantastic Rice ball carriers, dazzling ability, speedy, durable, sensational field vision, stellar instincts hitting the hole, nose for the end zone

Matt Jordan (Sr. WR) – Maybe the most underrated offensive talent in the whole Catholic League, a perfect mix of character, consistency, soft hands and home-run threat on the edge

Carter Dunaway (Sr. TE) – University of Michigan-bound pass-catcher who will keep defenses honest at the line, ready for a GINORMOUS senior campaign!!
