Since the beginning of the month the state’s football recruiting landscape has been brimming over with commitments. There have been seven college connections made between DI programs and top-notch prospects from the Mitten in August so far.

 

Here’s a breakdown of the action (alphabetically):

 

Larry Borom (Birmingham Brother Rice OL) – The imposing, technique-savvy 6-foot-5, 345-pound senior offensive guard committed to the University of Missouri.Burney’s "Sleeper Special" in this year’s Class of 2016….Take it 2Tha Bank!!!

 

Eddie Brecht (Lapeer OL) – This Sir-Grind-A-Lot 6-foot-7, 300-pound senior offensive tackle committed to Kent State University after an outstanding offseason. Outstanding value as a prospect, blood-sweat-&-tears type

 

Zac Darwiche (Dearborn Fordson OL) – An intelligent and agile, 6-foot-6, 300-pound senior offensive tackle, Darwiche committed to the University of Virginia.The total package of a student athlete!!

 

Rob Hudson (WL Western OL) – Tall and extremely fundamentally sound in the trenches, the 6-foot-9, 300-pound senior offensive tackle will be playing in the Big 10 at the next level, committing to Purdue University. Upside is on the moon!! We’re talking Sunday afternoons possibly being in this kid’s future….YEAH, I SAID IT!!!

 

Dezmond Lance (SH Stevenson DL) – A durable, athletic 6-foot-3, 275-pound senior defensive tackle, Lance committed to Western Michigan University….Can you say steal?

 

Cepeda Phillips (Detroit King LB) – One of the state’s most punishing hitters, Phillips (6-foot-1, 220 pound senior), who plays a nasty outside linebacker, committed to Kent State University. Truly a hidden gem!!

 

Ovie Oghoufo (FH Harrison LB) – The definition of lightning quickness sideline-to-sideline and thundering tackling ability, Oghoufo, only a junior and an outside backer with few equals in the entire state regardless of grade, got his recruiting plans out of the way early, committing to the University of Notre Dame ..Swagger Level is reaching EPIC proportions with this hungry Hawk!!
