Making The Rounds @ Training Camp – Early Impressions

By: Scott Burnstein, August 11, 2016, 9:03 pm
Here’s a look at some football players that have caught Burney’s eye so far this first week of training camp for the 2016 campaign:

Jimmy O’Connor (Farmington Hills Harrison QB) – Senior and first-year starter under center for TEAM HERRINGTON, has the chance to really surprise people with his better-than-average arm, steely composure and gridiron IQ

DeQuincey Lewis (West Bloomfield LB) – All quickness, raw instinct and bone-crushing closing power sideline-to-sideline

Floyd Hudson (Berkley DT) – This 300-pound run-plugger is a fierce presence in the trenches, more agile than you’d expect, a lot of heart, great leadership skill

J.T. King (Clarkston QB) – Intelligent, gutty and athletic field general about to impress in his inaugural season at the controls of the Wolfpack NATION’s‘O’

Zach Purry (Farmington RB) – Showing flashes of brilliance in the backfield, could have a gaudy 2016 stat line in his near future

Anthony Moran & Derrick Hinton (AH Avondale SB) – Pure electricity in the open field….both of them, a duo of big-time talents about to ignite the Yellow Jackets’ offense

Thomas Loftus & Jacob Jackson (Rochester WR/DB) – These senior two-sport playmakers are fresh off a run to the quarterfinals as members of the Falcons baseball squad a couple months ago and judging by early results at camp, the positive momentum from the spring is already translating onto the football field i.e. APPROACH WITH CAUTION, READY TO EXPLODE!!

Andre Carter (Southfield A&T DE) – He eats a steady diet of opposing quarterbacks for breakfast, lunch and dinner, any questions?
