MIDWEST RECRUITING: A grand addition for WMU, as East Grand Rapids OT Kettler choses Broncos

One more gone.

And headed to Kalamazoo.

East Grand Rapids senior football star Stu Kettler committed to Western Michigan at the beginning of this week pulling one of the best prospects left in the state’s Class of 2019 linemen crop off the board.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle also had offers from Ball State, Indiana State, Miami (OH), Bowling Green and Toledo. Scouts point to his superior footwork and work ethic as his most appealing attributes as a recruit.

Kettler’s been on the EGR varsity since he was a sophomore. His clubs have captured league titles out of the OK Gold the past two years. EGR is 1-2 entering its Week 4 battle with Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern.

The WMU Broncos are 0-2, having lost to power-conference opponents Syracuse (ACC) and Michigan (Big Ten) in their first two weeks of the 2018 season.
