MIDWEST RECRUITING: Brownsburg QB Ben Easters settles on Kansas for college

On the heels of a stellar offseason and with his junior campaign on the prep gridiron looming, Brownsburg quarterback Ben Easters got his college plans in order this week by committing to Kansas. New Jayhawks coach Les Miles offered the cannon-armed, 6-foot-3 field general in June.
In his first year as a varsity starter in 2018, Easters led Brownsburg to a league title and an undefeated regular season. He racked up 1,890 yards and 22 touchdowns for a club that won its playoff opener but lost to Avon in the sectional finals.
Easters has excellent command in the huddle and presence in the pocket. He’s a riverboat gambler type, thriving on the big play, beating teams just as much with his grit and intestinal fortitude than his rocket-launcher of an arm. His football IQ is very high and he shows great touch on deep routes and an ability to thread the needle into tight coverage spots on his intermediate throws.
Kansas is in the Big 12 and hired Les Miles last November. Miles claimed a National Championship (2007) and a pair of SEC crowns (2007, 2011) while at LSU.
