MIDWEST RECRUITING: East Kentwood sends another lineman to the Big Ten, as Dallas Fincher chooses MSU

The Big Nasties at East Kentwood are spreading the love around the Big Ten.

On the heels of senior football stars Logan Brown (offensive lineman) and Mazi Smith (defensive lineman) signing with Wisconsin and Michigan, respectively, junior Dallas Fincher (offensive lineman) has ended his recruitment and committed to Michigan State.

The bumper crop of current lineman at East Kentwood is rare, with four prospects garnering high-major recruiting attention. Besides Fincher, Brown and Smith, junior Bryce Mostella (defensive end) is getting heavy attention from powerhouse college programs, but hasn’t decided on his college destination yet.

Considered a three-star (borderline four-star) recruit, Fincher chose the Spartans over almost two dozen other scholarship from the likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Miami (Fla.), Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Syracuse. He is MSU’s first recruit to commit from the Class of 2020, making his pledge on a visit over the weekend. His dad played in East Lansing in the 1980s.

Brown, a five-star Blue Chipper, is tabbed the No. 1 recruit in the state’s Class of 2019.  Smith and Mostella are four-star recruits. Many experts predict Fincher will reach four-star status prior to his Signing Day.
