Harlond Beverly is staying in Florida.

The former Southfield Christian star announced on Twitter Monday that he was committing to the University of Miami, choosing the Hurricanes over 17 other offers.

The 6-foot-4 point guard, a Farmington Hills native who transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida prior to his senior season, had been considered a four-star prospect, and the third-best player in Michigan’s 2019 class before his departure. He won Class D state title with Southfield Christian as a junior.

Montverde Academy went 22-3 on the season, losing only to Indiana’s La Lumiere at the Iolani  Classic in Hawaii at Christmas time, then again at the Cancer Research Classic in early January, before falling to IMG Academy at the GEICO Nationals earlier this month.

Beverly had offers from Baylor, Michigan State, Georgia, Alabama, Creighton, DePaul, Florida, Iowa State, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Toledo, Utah, Virginia and Xavier.
