Fenton junior field general Josh Czarnota is a fierce competitor on the gridiron, an elite playmakers in the state’s prep ranks and already a sleeper candidate in the race for the 2018 Mr. Football award. In his second season starting under center for the Tigers, the dazzling dual-threat Czarnota has led the program to a pair of league crowns in the Flint Metro and into its second straight Division 2 district championship game. He’s unquestionably one of the most diverse and durable quarterbacks in the whole state.

 

Fenton (8-2) plays Midland Dow Friday with a district title on the line. The Tigers haven’t lost since Week 3. Last week, with Czarnota registering 245 yards of total offense and two touchdowns, Fenton flew by SVL Blue champs Flint Carman-Ainsworth 49-14 to kick-off playoff action.

 

So far this fall, Czarnota is in CAM NEWTON MODE, simply tearing up the stat sheet – he has recorded nearly 3,000 yards from scrimmage of combined offense. Throwing the ball (1,961 yards), his 24 scoring strikes against a single interception speaks to his pinpoint accuracy. Rushing the rock (985 yards, 11 touchdowns) is another forte of his and when he’s in the open field, he can take it to the house in the blink of an eye.

 

At the controls of a complex scheme in the Fenton offense, his intelligence at the position is evident. His knack for the big play in the clutch uncanny.
