Here are some quick hitters from the state’s football recruiting scene

Phil Paea (Berrien Springs OL) – Hottest prospect in the state right now Pt. 1 aka SCORCHER ALERT, recently snagged offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame & Nebraska. Be cautious when approaching this young man, the flames could be blazing pretty high

Scotty Nelson (Detroit UD-Jesuit ATH) – Hottest prospect in the state Pt. 2, aka Too Hot-Too Handle-Too Cold-To Hold ALERT,recently collecting Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa and Northwestern offers, I knew this kid was a superstar the second I laid eyes on him last fall. All I can say is; The REAL DEAL, AS ADVERTISED

Jaylin Kelly-Powell (S) & Jordan Reid (OL) (Detroit Cass Tech) – Michigan State scooped in over the weekend and dropped offers at these two tantalizing Technicians’ junior prospect’s doorsteps. Kelly-Powell is fast, strong, instinctive, aggressive and a natural ball hawk. Reid is built like a hotel, we’re talking 6-foot-5 and almost 300 bills.

Kalon Gervin (Detroit Cass Tech CB) – In the few months since the 2015 season concluded, this sizzling sophomore stud in the secondary has established himself a premier recruit in the state’s Class of 2018. His offer list recently reached double digits (Michigan, Penn State, Illinois, Pitt, Iowa State, UA-Birmingham and the University of South Florida, among them)

Hunter Rison (AA Skyline) – The son of former NFL All-Pro WR Andre ‘Bad Moon’ Rison garnered MVP at his position in the Best of Midwest offseason showcase camp, raising his already-booming recruiting stock even higher. ‘Baby Bad Moon’ currently boasts offers from Michigan State (he was committed to his pops’ alma mater for a quick second), Ohio State, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Louisville, Rutgers, Arizona State, Cal, UCLA and Oregon. Ohio State, Texas A&M, Louisville and Rutgers came in with bids in the past week.
