Shout It Loud, Shout It Proud – Who Is Burney Propping Up In The CHSL?

By: Scott Burnstein, October 24, 2016, 7:25 pm
Burney wants to shout out some of the best of the best he’s seen on the football field this fall in the Catholic League. Alright, let’s do this:

CHSL ROLL CALL – Gridiron Gladiator Edition

Cam “The RAM” Ryan (Detroit Catholic Central RB) – The league’s premier “power runner,” punishing presence taking the rock in between the tackles and up the gut of the defense…tough yardage specialist, rough-rugged-&-raw type, the kind of back and blocker who only gets stronger as the game goes longer

Chris Jakubik (Detroit Catholic Central Mr. DO EVERYTHING) – Can you say the Jabril Peppers of the CHSL Central? That’s the kind of season we’re talking about here!!! Maybe the league MVP in Burney’s opinion

Theo Day (Dearborn Divine Child QB) – Fastest-rising field general in the whole state…..Yeah, I said it!!!…..check the charts people

Aiden Hutchinson (Dearborn Divine Child DE) – The quintessential edge rusher, think PIGSKIN PAC MAN, aka he has ALL THE RIGHT MOVES devouring opposing quarterbacks and that’s why the college scouts are in love with him

Jack Saylor and Joey Royer (Birmingham Brother Rice DE) – The most underrated duo of pass rushers in Metro Detroit, please make a note

Rubin Williams & Tyler King (Birmingham Brother Rice LB) – The most underrated duo of linebackers in Metro Detroit, please make a note

Scotty Nelson (Detroit U-D Jesuit ATH) – Definition of electricity no matter where he lines up, has a college future in the secondary as bright as a celestial moonbeam

Elijah Collins (Detroit U-D Jesuit ATH) – Perfect mix of jackrabbit speed, natural instinct and primetime playmaking ability (with potential to do damage at multiple positions) which has made him one of the state’s hottest recruits this fall

Josh “The BOSS” Ross (OL St. Mary’s LB) – I’ve literally never seen a high school linebacker that can equal BOSS ROSS sideline-to-sideline in the combining of a high motor, high intellect and high skill level

RaShawn Allen (OL St. Mary’s RB) – A star is born in the backfield….’Nuff said!!!

Jalen Allen & Aaron Wiggins (BH Cranbrook RB) – The most exciting tailback tandem that you don’t know about, but Do now ‘cause your boy Burney just dropped the 411 on ya

Tyler Santangelo-to-Kobi Russell (BH Cranbrook QB-WR) – The most exciting pass-catch combo that you don’t know about, but DO  now ‘cause your boy Burney just dropped the 411 on ya
