Burney’s Hottest Class of ’23 Hoop Prospects Entering Summer

Braelon Green (Ypsilanti Lincoln 6-foot-3 G) — Lit in every meaning of the word.

Malik Oliafoye (Ecorse 6-1 G) — Wall Street Wonder, in other words, his stock is on the rise.

Johnny Blackwell (Birmingham Brother Rice 6-3 G) — Lightning-in-a-bottle type, slick playmaker with a high bball IQ coming over from Novi Christian to take the CHSL Central by storm.

Sonny Wilson (Detroit U-D Jesuit 6-0) — The definition of a fearless floor general and team leader.

Anthony Benard (Grosse Pointe South 6-1 G) — Best player in the Class of ’23 that you don’t know about but need to ASAP.

R.J. Taylor (Grand Blanc 5-10 G) — Grind-and-shine mentality, plays the game three moves ahead of his competition.

Chuckie Bailey (Birmingham Groves 6-2 G) — Ready to erupt like a volcano both recruiting wise this summer and in the stat sheet in 2021. He’s got an “it” factor.

Curtis Williams (Birmingham Brother Rice 6-6 G/F) — The No. 1 small forward prospect in the class and maybe the top overall college recruit out of the incoming sophomores when its all said and done in three years.

Mekhai Walker (Detroit Cass Tech 6-3 G/F) — Star in the making, plenty of upside to be intrigued by.

(tie)  Ryan Hurst (West Bloomfield 6-2 G) — Bulldog guard who attacks the rim harder than anyone in his class.

(tie) Tim Jordan (Saginaw Arthur Hill 6-7 F) — Hustle and flow guy, Sagnasty thoroughbred written all over him.
