STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Burney’s top 10 big men on the MHSAA hardwood

Burney’s Top 10 Big Men On The Boys Basketball Floor in Michigan
Isaiah Jackson (Waterford Mott 6-9 Sr.) — Signed with Kentucky, Jackson is the No. 1 college prospect in the state and the Mitten’s top power forward.
Matt Nicholson (Clarkston 7-0 Sr.) — Signed with Northwestern, Nicholson is the best pure center in the state and a dark horse in the 2020 Mr. Basketball race.
Maliq Carr (Oak Park 6-5 Sr.) — Signed with Purdue for football, Carr will only be playing through the New Year because he’s enrolling in college early, but is a hurricane of hustle and flow baseline-to-baseline on the hardwood no doubt (see triple double in Knights’ opener).
Legend Geeter (River Rouge 6-7 Jr.) — Hardest working hoopster in Metro Detroit, take it to the bank!!
William Dunn (Quincy 6-9 Sr.) — Signed with Youngstown State, Dunn is the state’s own version of NBA star Ben Simmons, playing all five positions on the court.
Basheer Jihad (North Farmington 6-7 Jr.) — The upside is on the moon for this lanky, lean and mean “stretch 4.” Rising fast in recruiting circles, playing furious on the floor (see first career double-double — 17 pts, 15 boards — in Raiders’ dub last week)
Colin Golson (Ferndale 6-6 Sr.) — Signed with Siena, Golson is the type of competitor who plays five inches taller than his actual height. Even though undersized, he’s a mismatch machine.
Mykel Bingham (Grand Rapids Catholic Central 6-8 Sr.) — Oozing with potential, piping hot around the rim and can step out and make it rain.
Justin DeGraaf (Hudsonville 6-7 Sr.) — After playing in Indiana the last couple years, DeGraaf will take the west-side prep cage scene by storm this winter. Just a grinder in every way possible.
Peter Nwoke (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6-8 Jr.) — Will be the most improved player in the Catholic League Central this year.
