STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Harper Woods OL Davion Weatherspoon picks Ohio University

Harper Woods center Davion Weatherspoon announced his commitment Friday to Ohio University.
“First of all, I would like to thank Jehovah for showing me favor and giving me the opportunity to play the game of football at the next level,” Weatherspoon sent out in a statement on Twitter. “Also I would like to thank my brothers I go to war with for pushing me to work harder. Also my family and all my coaches from youth-high school for teaching me the game of football and being by my side with me through hard times and supporting me throughout my career.”
The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Weatherspoon picked the Bobcats from among 10 offers, including Michigan, Army, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kentucky, Liberty, Morgan State, Austin Peay and Tennessee State.
According to 247Sports, Weatherspoon was a three-star prospect, the No. 32 player in Michigan’s 2021 class, and the No. 17 center in the nation. Among centers in the state, Weatherspoon ranked behind only Cass Tech’s Raheem Anderson, who is committed to the University of Michigan.
Teammate Da’Veon Turner (RB/DB) committed to Army in mid-April, while Pierce Muthui-Edwards (ATH) and Christian Stokes (SB/S) are still uncommitted.
