STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Hoosier state hoops update — Jeffersonville’s Jones, North Central’s Peterson pick college hoops homes

Division I love for the Hoosier State came in the form of scholarship offers in recent days, as Jeffersonville senior point guard Jacob Jones committed to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and North Central senior power forward Charlie Peterson committed to Army last week.
Jones will quarterback the offense for a Jeffersonville squad that will be a favorite to win a state title in 2020. The spunky 5-foot-11 floor general averaged 12 points and nearly eight dimes per game last winter. His efficiency and hardwood IQ bodes well for him at the next level. UW-Green Bay is coaches by Highland alum and former Purdue captain Linc Darner.
The 6-foot-9 Peterson is one of the hardest working post players in the Indianapolis area. He tallied 11 points and seven boards a night in 2019. Army has been feasting on recruits from the Hoosier State lately: four current players on the Black Knights roster hail from Indiana (Bloomington South’s Tucker Blackwell, South Bend St. Joseph’s Mark Madden, Greensburg’s Ben Kinker who attended prep school and Columbus North’s Alex King).
