STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Indiana Football Recruiting Notebook (Juniors Only) — WMU welcomes Elkhart’s Tyren Mason into fold

Onward to K-Zoo.
Elkhart Memorial junior wide receiver Tyren Mason committed to Western Michigan this week. Last fall, he made 30 grabs for 450 yards and six touchdowns.
Tim Lester’s Broncos have gone 7-6 the past two years. He carries six players hailing from the Hoosier State on his current roster: D’Wayne Eskridge (Bluffton WR), Ra’Sean Davie (Indianapolis North Central RB), Luke Sanders (Indianapolis Cathedral TE), Anthony Torres (Mishawaka Penn TE) and Kailien Guillory (Indianapolis Ben Davis DE).
Lester landed Cathedral senior outside linebacker Quinton Cannon for his incoming recruiting class headed to Kalamazoo.
Much like Cannon in the Class of 2020, Mason represents great value as a prospect. The sleek, 6-foot-1, 175-pound pass catcher is a premium route runner and has tremendous feel and instinct for the position.
What else is going on?
• Ben Davis junior wide receiver-defensive back Daylan Carnell took visits to Indiana, Purdue and West Virginia so far this offseason. The three-star stud athlete is said to be leaning towards committing to Notre Dame.
• Indianapolis Pike junior defensive end Kyran Montgomery visited Missouri and collected an offer from Illinois this month. Minnesota offered back in the winter.
• Brownsburg junior offensive lineman Joshua Sales visited Purdue last weekend and scooped offers from Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas in the offseason.
