STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Just the start of something special — Stock on the rise for North Central’s Theran Johnson

This is only the beginning.
Indianapolis North Central junior cornerback Theran Johnson has seen his recruitment pick up steam in recent weeks as schools are finally getting hip to this Circle City cobra of a defensive back and his venomous skill set. I foresee most of the Big Ten getting in on the Johnson recruiting express soon.
Northwestern offered the 6-foot-0, 175-pound cover corner last week. Word is spreading through Midwest scouting circles that Indiana and Purdue will most likely be offering by the end of the month.
Johnson visited Pursue two weekends ago and stopped by Northwestern’s Evanston, Illinois campus last Wednesday where he got his first Power 5 offer from Wildcats head coach Pat Fitzgerald. The prototype of a bump and run specialist out of the secondary, Johnson is an excellent tackler and a natural ball hawk in pass coverage. In 2019, he corralled 67 tackles and four interceptions (with eight bat downs).
