STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: MSU scores another in-state commit from East Lansing OT Ethan Boyd

East Lansing offensive tackle Ethan Boyd tweeted Thursday afternoon that he’s “staying home,” committing to the Big Ten school across town, Michigan State.
A 6-foot-7, 290-pound tackle ranked as a three-star recruit. 247Sports ranked Boyd as the No. 22 prospect in Michigan’s Class of 2021, and the 75th-best offensive tackle in the nation.
He’s the second in-state recruit to commit to new coach Mel Tucker’s Spartans this week, joining Oak Park running back Davion Primm.
Boyd chose the Spartans over offers from fellow Big Ten schools in Indiana and Minnesota. He also had offers from Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Kansas State, and a good portion of the Mid-American Conference (Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio and Toledo).
Boyd’s Trojans went 7-3 last season, and lost in the first round of the playoffs to DeWitt.
