STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Pike guard Davion Bailey has raised recruiting stock as a senior
Playing the role of a basketball ninja, Pike senior guard Davion Bailey has stealthily turned himself into a must-see talent.
Bailey is doing all the right things on the hardwood this winter to raise his recruiting stock and make himself a true college hoop commodity. The 6-foot-2 combo guard has upped his scoring average from 10 points per night last year to a piping-hot 18 points a game this season and is showing off his lockdown defensive ability. His offensive versatility has been on display as well, dotting the stat sheet for nearly five rebounds and five assists per game. He’s finishing at all three levels on the court, demonstrating keen leadership skills and a penchant for taking over in crunch time.
Oh, and he’s a winner. Pike is off to a 10-2 start and beat a real good Fishers squad back on Friday evening 63-54. The Red Devils’ crew of young bucks have rounded into shape quickly under the warm embrace of Bailey’s wing.
Division II Central State out of Ohio came in with Bailey’s first offer just last week. Expect more to be flooding in soon.
