STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Six-pack of under-publicized South Oakland County gridiron studs

Here’s a half-dozen lesser-known football studs from the south end of Oakland County ready for big seasons on the gridiron in 2019:

Jaylin Mines (Oak Park) — This junior safety is a prime time playmaker with range, instinct and athleticism.

Marlon Dawson (Oak Park) — A junior linebacker with size, speed and blunt-force trauma closing power.

Caleb Banks (Southfield A&T) — Maybe the best pass-rush prospect in the state’s junior class.

Braden Mussat and Klayton Cornell (Madison Heights Bishop Foley) — Might be the top small school QB-WR connection in Metro Detroit this fall, as Mussat is a genuine gunslinger under center and Cornell the definition of sure-handed and hard to handle in the red zone.

Adam Long (Madison Heights Madison) — Spunky and intelligent senior linebacker who is relentless sideline to sideline every single snap.
