The Difference Makers — Who will shine in March’s madness?
Five X-Factors to keep an eye out for on the boys basketball court this postseason:
Quindarius Davis (Benton Harbor Sr.) — The best lock-down perimeter defender on the state’s west side. That’s a FACT, folks!
Carmelo Harris (Flint Beecher Soph.) — Star in the making, learning the ropes from Mr. Basketball candidate and Oregon-bound floor general Jalen Terry, has showed flashes of greatness all season long.
Josh Hines (Macomb Dakota Jr.) — Just plain destructive baseline to baseline, can do a little bit of everything, fearless Swag Nasty doing a lot of shadow dancing this winter behind Toledo signee Ryan Rollins, the No. 1 player in Macomb County.
Kareem Rozier (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Soph.) — Blue-chippers Lorne Bowman and Julian Roper hog all the headlines, but Rozier’s facilitating, lights-out shooting and vocal leadership at the point are the straws that stir the drink for the Catholic League champs.
Keegan Wasilk (Clarkston Soph.) — The perfect pace-setter for Metro Detroit’s most consistently dangerous suburban program, Wasilk is pure efficiency and FIRE running the point for his uncle’s club. A big tournament by him could easily result in the team’s third state title in four seasons.
