Detroit U-D Jesuit senior big fella Greg Eboigbodin has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago. The long and active 6-foot-9 shot-blocking machine and Windex man helped lead U-D Jesuit to a Class A state title last March. His frontcourt mate with the Cubs, Ike Eke, committed to Marquette in the summer
West Ottawa senior small forward Jake Van Tubbergen has committed to Grand Valley State. At 6-foot-6, the Notorious JVT is a workhorse on the wing and has the chance to go HAM on the GLIAC
North Farmington senior point guard and Mr. Basketball candidate Amauri Hardy will be visiting Oklahoma State this weekend. Speedy and smart with slick handles, a lightning-fast release and excellent court instinct, Hardy is gearing up for a monster final campaign on the high school hardwood on the heels of Raidersnation run to the state finals last winter. He got a Georgia Tech offer over the summer.
Dearborn Henry Ford Academy junior forward Trevion Williams took a visit to the University of Wisconsin this past weekend, enjoying the Badgers primetime pigskin throwdown against Ohio States from the sideline. Williams saw his recruiting stock explode in the offseason, displaying sheer power, skill and force of will in the frontcourt
Boston College scouts were in Motown last week and enjoyed an open gym looksee at 2016 Class A final-four participant Macomb Dakota, observing point guard Jermaine Jackson, Jr., an all-stater in the backcourt the last three years and a 2017 Mr. Basketball candidate, and Catholic League transfer Jack Ballantyne. The fundamentally-sound 6-foot-9 ½ Ballantyne, a master rim protector with superior footwork and touch around the hoop, was previously at Warren De La Salle and got an offer from BC before the Eagles’ contingent flew back to Beantown
