The ‘Other Guys’ — Burney’s roll call of Davison’s under-appreciated, unsung heroes

By: , November 24, 2019, 3:09 pm

Davison junior field general Brendan Sullivan is getting a lot of headlines this fall — and rightfully so — as his Cardinals are in the midst of a historic season on the gridiron, punching a ticket to the program’s first-ever state championship game over the weekend by rallying to beat SH Stevenson 34-27 in miracle fashion in overtime. But the Cardinals (11-2) are far from a one-man team. They’ve got MAD SWAG and guys making BOSS MOVES all up and down the roster.

So, let’s shout out a fearsome six pack of Davison BIRD DAWGS deserving of praise for their playmaking in 2019 (In alphabetical order):

Carter Cryderman (Jr. RB) — Runs with a ton of toughness and tenacity, a bell-cow type.

Latrell Fordham (Sr. WR) — Committed to Ball State, Fordham makes sweet music stretching the field or going across the middle on intermediate routes … super combo of soft hands and wicked wheels.

Jay Nivision (Sr. LB) — Star wrestler who takes his mat mentality to the football field and plays with reckless abandon sideline-to-sideline.

Logan Pasco (Sr. LB) — Committed to Youngstown State, Pasco patrols the gridiron on defense with a killer instinct and a chip on his shoulder.

Caleb Smith (Sr. S/RB) — Committed to South Dakota, Smith hits like a ton of bricks and is the definition of crafty and clutch on both sides of the ball.

Harry Unger (Sr. DE) — The motor, the moxie, the heart of the lion … disruptive in so many ways.
