The Ultimate Family Affair – AAU Magic Men

By: Scott Burnstein, April 11, 2016, 4:43 pm

In terms of AAU hoops this offseason, The Family 17-U squad is the premier club in the state of Michigan. The Fam won a tourney out in Grand Rapids this weekend.

Alright, let’s ROLL CALL it, Burney Style:

Jermaine Jackson, Jr. (Macomb Dakota G) – Maybe early frontrunner for 2017 Mr. Basketball, prototypical PTP’er (Primetime Performer), definition of excitement when he has the rock in his hands

Amauri Hardy (North Farmington G) – Lefty assassin in the backcourt, quickest first step to the rack in the state

C.J. Wilson (OL St. Mary’s G) – Best point guard in the Catholic League, pure ferocity-meets-finesse, especially when the game’s on the line

Matt Beachler (Lowell G) – Textbook gunner on the wing…..’Nuff Said!!

Jamal Cain (Detroit Cornerstone F) – No. 1 swingman in the state, crafty, smooth, killer in the open court and half-court set

Greg Elliott (Detroit East English Village G/F) – Just keeps improving, rare gem in the mid-range game, can hurt you from deep, cagey, high hoops IQ, will probably be the top talent in the PSL in ‘17

Jaron Faulds (Holt F) – The most explosive player not everybody knows about but everyone should…….Mark That Down!!!

Ike Eke & Greg Eboigbodin (Detroit U-D Jesuit C) – Can you say ELITE twin towers? Can you state champions? Can you say GINORMOUS upside at the college level?

Jack Ballantyne (Warren De La Salle C) – Outstanding big fella with excellent foot work, post moves and touch around the rim, missed most of his junior year, had a HUGE senior season in store patrolling the paint for the Pilots come next winter
