Tick, Tick, Tick – Late Fall Football Recruiting Ticker

By: Scott Burnstein, October 31, 2016, 9:00 pm
DROPPING THE 411 from the state’s gridiron recruiting terrain:

West Bloomfield’s Davion Johnson, a dual-purpose dynamo who can run it with punishing efficiency up the middle, beat defenders to the corner with his wheels or catch the rock out of the backfield with ease and finesse, has committed to Miami (OH) and Ann Arbor Skyline’s Treshaun Hayward, a fast and strong inside linebacker, has committed to Western Michigan. Johnson has over 1,000 combined yards from scrimmage and has scored 11 touchdowns so far this fall. Hayward registered 96 tackles and 5 sacks. Both these snags are STEALS for these MAC programs, as it’s Burney opinion that each of these fellas have Big Ten talent and Big-Time upsides at their respective next-level homes.

The state’s No. 1 college recruit, Detroit Cass Tech senior wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones has narrowed his fat list of college scholarship offers down to just five. Drum roll please…..and the fist-full of lucky schools are – Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State Florida and Florida State.

Detroit U-D Jesuit senior safety prospect Scotty Nelson visited Wisconsin last weekend. His main man up front on the line for the Cubbies, standout junior offensive lineman Carlos Vetterello visited Iowa this past weekend. Vetterello just got an Iowa State offer. He already had MAC bids from Bowling Green, Toledo, CMU, WMU, EMU and Ohio U.
