Now that Round 1 is in the books, here is Burney’s list of 10 players to watch the rest of the way in the IHSAA football playoffs.

Alright, here we go:

Bo Sanders (Indianapolis Cathedral WR-CB 5A) — The Elon commit as a cover corner is getting crazy busy in his first year starting at receiver.

Jake Perry (Whiteland RB 5A) — Tough as nails runner, 1,400 yards rushing, 20 touchdowns.

Cole Brevard (Carmel DL 6A) — No. 1 junior in the state, total menace and merchant of destruction in the trenches.

Josh Wagner (Zionsville QB 5A) — Going surgical in the pocket, has thrown for 2,000 yards, 23 touchdowns.

Kenny Tracey (Decatur Central RB 5A) — The definition of an all-purpose back, can kill you in so many ways.

Bryce Kirtz (Brownsburg WR 6A) — Most polished and fundamentally sound pass catcher in the state, committed to Northwestern.

Devin Weakley (Western Boone LB 2A) — Hits like a ton of bricks, blazer sideline-to-sideline.

Brandon Corbin (Salem QB 3A) — Turning it up a notch for a postseason run, this rocket-armed field general threw for 285 yards and scored four touchdowns (two in the air, two on the ground) in a playoff-opening upset of Charlestown last week.

Ryan Brandt (Angola S 4A) — Think old-school safety like future Hall of Famer John Lynch

Deon Pettiford (Lawrence North LB 6A) — The Indiana State-commit is in BEAST MODE 24/7, the prototypical “new era” OLB, one of the most underrated playmakers on the defensive side of the rock in Indy.
