BURNEY’S BOYS BASKETBALL POWER RANKINGS: Top 10 point guards in IHSAA for 2018-19

Burney’s top 10 point guards in the IHSAA

1 Isaiah Thompson (Zionsville Sr.) — Signed with Purdue, Thompson is a fearless floor general with a velvety touch from long range. He averaged 23 points and four assists per game as a junior.

2 Luke Bumbalough (New Castle Sr.) — Signed with Ball State, Bumbalough is a bulldog in the backcourt, beating opponents with a scintillating combination of savvy and skill. He averaged 20 points, six assists and shot nearly 50 percent from 3-point distance last year.

3 Cam Alford (Brownsburg Sr.) — Cash money in every way possible!!! He averaged 16 points, five assists and three steals a night in 2018.

4 Nijel Pack (Lawrence Central Jr.) — A crafty presence at the point, Pack is a nails tough competitor and shake-and-bake specialist on the perimeter. Last year, he averaged 12 points and four dimes per game.

5 Khristian Lander (Evansville Reitz Soph.) — Best at the position in the state’s Class of 2021. He averaged 14 points and four assists per game as a fab frosh last winter.

6 Johnell Davis (Gary 21st Century Jr.) — The next Gary hoopster great!!!!! ‘Nuff said!!

7 Ethan Brittain-Watts (Culver Academy Sr.) — The high-energy, high-hoop IQ “Notorious E.B.W.” is an expert at breaking opponents down up top, getting into the lane and wreaking havoc. He recorded 15 points and five dimes per night last season for a Culver Academy club that won a Class 3A state championship.

8 Tayson Parker (Northwestern Jr.) — Probably the most naturally offensively gifted of the state’s point guard crop. He pumped in 26 points per game last year as a super soph.

9 David Bell (Warren Central Sr.) — The college-football bound Bell is a beast running the show for the Warriors on the hardwood too. As a junior, he posted 13 points and four assists per outing.

10 Harold Bennett (Indianapolis Crispus Attackus Sr.) — All heart, the definition of a gamer.
