BURNEY’S BYTES: Bingham busting out for defending champs, Warren Central

Sometimes things just all of a sudden click. A switch is flipped and a star is born.
Warren Central senior boys basketball player Jesse Bingham fits the bill in Indy these days.
The 6-foot-6 forward and University of Indianapolis-signee, previously viewed as a “project,” has undergone a hardwood epiphany for the No. 1 team in the state. Erupting like a volcano, he’s playing the best hoops of his career, averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds per game over the last two weeks. This kid has been a total monster, efficient as he’s been deadly.
In a 33-point, 12-board effort in Warren Central’s 81-42 beat down of North Central, Bingham connected on 13 of 15 from the field and blocked six shots. Going head-to-head with the No. 1 prospect in the state in Center Grove’s Blue-Chip recruit Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indiana University), Bingham more than held his own and hit the stat sheet up for 22 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and four assists.
Warren Central (18-1) is hoping to ride Bingham’s scorching-hot game to a repeat Class 4A state crown. One thing is for sure, Bingham is a bona fide baller getting busy, getting buckets and getting his BOSS MODE credentials all in one fell swoop.
I see you, JB! It looks like all that swagger and Ric Flair Drip your teammate David Bell (point guard/Purdue football recruit) possesses has started to rub off. These two are just dripping with finesse and thirsting for another ring … Can you say, BLING, BLING?
