Circle City Football Recruiting Notebook — McDermott Makes It Louisville Over IU, Goodvine Goes To Miami (OH)

Noblesville junior offensive lineman Ranson McDermott has committed to Louisville. The 6-foot-7, 300 pound road grader chose Louisville over IU, Boston College, Cincinnati and Kentucky. He’s rated a 3-star recruit.

Westfield junior defensive end Willie Goodvine committed to Miami (OH) last month, giving the Red Hawks a true sleeper gem for its Class of ’24. Goodvine (6-3, 240) sheeted 69 tackles and 5 sacks last fall. Miami (OH) and Western Michigan were the first schools to offer scholarships to Goodvine after the New Year.

Offers of Note

USC swooped into Indianapolis and offered Mark Zackery (Ben Davis 6-0, 175 Soph. CB) and Damien Shanklin (Warren Central 6-5, 245 Soph. DE). Zackery also took home offers from Iowa and Texas A&M this week

Decatur Central freshman quarterback Bo Polston (6-2, 200) got his first rush of offers this week from the likes of Indiana, Marshall, Akron, Toledo and Central Michigan

Bishop Chatard junior linebacker Sam Fenney (6-2, 200) notched an offer from Ball State

Brownsburg junior offensive lineman Josh Thoman (6-5, 300) scooped an offer from Western Michigan

Avon junior offensive lineman Zach Bandy (6-5, 275) received offers from Army and Air Force
